In Paris, we say goodbye to Sarah. She is taking the train back to Belgium. Passengers traveling to Amsterdam, Rome, and Turin are requested to leave the plane first due to the short connection time. We are seated all the way at the back, and of course, everyone in front of us stands up — including those not on connecting flights. Pushing and shoving hardly helps, and the other passengers don’t take transfers into account at all. While most passengers enter the jet bridge, we exit the plane from the other side via a stairway down to the tarmac. A bus is waiting there, and airport staff meet us. They check the number of passengers in our group, and the bus drives us directly to Terminal F. The guide leads us to passport control, where an extra lane is opened just for us. The carry-on baggage check is very busy, so we move to a second checkpoint where we are processed immediately. Within half an hour, we reach our plane, where check-in has not quite begun yet. Excellent service from Air France! The flight to Schiphol proceeds smoothly. At Schiphol, we have one last beer as a farewell. Unfortunately, the luggage arrives so quickly that we miss seeing a few fellow travelers during the goodbye. After saying our final farewells at Schiphol, the vacation is truly over.
