We walk along the castle wall to reach the small church. It's a bit of a puzzle to find the entrance to the Orthodox Rose Church. This 15th-century church is one of the oldest in Serbia. Inside, chandeliers made from weapons and bullets hang from the ceiling — very unique. From the church, we cross the wooden bridge into the Kalemegdan Fortress. From the tower, there is a beautiful view of the city and the Danube River. Under the trees in the fortress, we enjoy an ice cream. Then we exit the walled fort on the other side and descend to the banks of the Sava River. This river flows into the Danube.
