Switzerland - Road Trip Germany and Switzerland

Road Trip Germany and Switzerland

15 - 30 augustus 2020 (16 days)

The cultural center lies on Lake Lucerne, the Vierwaldstättersee. Boats are waiting to take passengers on a trip around the lake. The lake flows into the Reuss River. Here stands the Kapellbrücke, the main tourist attraction of Switzerland. The covered wooden bridge from 1365 was part of the fortifications around the old town of Lucerne. The water tower, which is part of the bridge, dates from 1300. The bridge has been restored several times, the last time after a fire in 1993 destroyed two-thirds of it. The bridge has since been restored to its original state, but many historic paintings under the roof were lost forever. The fire started on a boat that was moored nearby. Since then, docking at the bridge has been prohibited.

The ski area we reach is made up of stunning mountain peaks and vast slopes, including some of the most challenging in the world. Switzerland is famous for its Swiss Alps, and the breathtaking scenery offers an unforgettable skiing experience. We glide over the slopes, taking in the spectacular views. Winter Sports Avoriaz

11 t/m 18 jan. 2003 (8 days)

From Avoriaz, we ski into Switzerland, which is part of the same ski area. In the afternoon, we have to hurry because a sign warns that we must be back towards France by 3:30 p.m. It’s already 3:45 p.m., so we quickly ski down the slope. At the bottom, we see the lift operator waiting, and we rush to get on before it closes. Luckily, we make it just in time and can breathe a sigh of relief that we’re not stuck in Switzerland.
