We drive back to Vaduz by car. In the city center, in the pedestrian zone, we order some drinks and food. From here, the walk to Vaduz Castle begins. The 12th-century castle sits atop the rocks above the city. Over the centuries, the castle has been extensively modified and expanded. Since 1712, the castle has been the property of the Princes of Liechtenstein. Since 1938, it has been the permanent residence of the royal family. The castle is not open to visitors. However, from this height, we enjoy a beautiful view of Liechtenstein's capital. In the late afternoon, we have a beer on a terrace. We consider staying for dinner in Vaduz, but eventually decide to drive back to Triesen to find a restaurant there.
