A Road Trip Through Europe

At exactly three o'clock, Dorina arrives. She tells us she’ll lead the way in the first car and the others should follow. Along the route, she stops to give explanations. In total, six cars join the tour. The extra seat isn’t needed. We follow her into the wine cellars. There's an entire underground street system. The streets are named after wine types. Along the sides are huge wooden and iron wine barrels. It’s quite amusing to drive through the cellars. Dorina stops along the way to give us information. She says two million bottles of wine are stored here—a Guinness World Record. The cave complex spans 200 kilometers, though only 50 are in use. At another stop, she shows the bottled wine—thousands of bottles have been stored here for years. Many are buried in dust. Labels reveal some have been here over 30 years. The tour ends with a tasting.
