At customs, a surprise awaits. The officer doubts whether the accommodation address we provided actually exists. Even when we show him the reservation, the customs officer claims to know the owner and says the hotel is closed. He calls the hotel. The owner confirms his story. A few weeks ago, the owner had already informed the booking agency that the reservation could not go ahead. The hotel has gone bankrupt. We have no choice but to look for a new destination — something we’re really not in the mood for after nearly forty hours of travel.
