Indonesia - The lovely beach of Bali

For the last time, I go to breakfast. Perhaps it’s for the best that this is the final time I have toast and an omelet; after four weeks, I’m getting a bit tired of it. The holiday is almost over. I repack my luggage and separate hand luggage from checked baggage. I have to check out of the room at twelve o’clock. I head to the beach for a good coffee and lunch. This is a perfect spot to conclude the trip. Exactly at three o’clock, I board the bus that takes me to the airport. At the airport, I say goodbye to Karin, who flies on to Yogyakarta tomorrow. A new tour group arrives there in two days. I check in my luggage, go through customs, and pass the carry-on check. Nowhere do I have to pay the 200,000 rupiah (15 euros) departure tax. This had been announced beforehand. I don’t understand why it’s not required, but it does leave me with extra money to spend at the airport. I order a beer with spring rolls. At quarter to seven in the evening, I board flight MH 852 to Kuala Lumpur. Half an hour later, the plane takes off precisely on time. The journey home has begun. At ten o’clock, I land at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. On the information screens, I see that my flight to Amsterdam is delayed by an hour. By the time I reach the gate, the delay has already increased to 120 minutes. Resigned, I wait.
