Today I am going to Figueres to visit the Dalí Museum. After breakfast, I head toward the metro station, a five-minute walk away. I take the metro toward Estació de Sants. From there, the train to Figueres departs at 10:15. This gives me about 20 minutes to figure out where to buy tickets and from which platform the train leaves. This turns out to be fairly straightforward. Soon, I am on my way to Figueres. Figueres is located about one hundred kilometers north of Barcelona, near the French border.
Around noon, I arrive in the town. From the station, I can walk to the museum on the other side of town. At the market square, I take a short break at a terrace. It has become quite warm by now. At the museum, I join the line to get inside. Various works by Salvador Dalí are on display. In addition to the numerous paintings, Dalí also created impressive artistic installations. I take my time exploring the museum. Once I have seen everything, I look for a place to eat in Figueres. I find a nice restaurant with a terrace on the central square. The rest of the afternoon, I stroll through the streets of the town. Around six o’clock, I return to the station for the train ride back. Two hours later, I am back in Barcelona at Sants Station. I take the metro back to my hotel. I decide to have dinner in the Barri Gòtic neighborhood. Yesterday, I noticed some nice restaurants there. In one of the streets, I step into a cozy restaurant with a tasty daily menu.
